0157 ZANTEDESCHIA AETHIOPICA (Arum Lily)
Known also as Arum Lily or Calla Lily. Early to mid summer flowering tuber with arrow-shaped, semi-erect basel, deep green leaves. Produces a succession of arum-like white spathes, each with a yellow spadix. Arum lily is a robust, dark green, succulent herb, which was introduced from South Africa as a garden plant and subsequently escaped to become established as a weed. It is found in creeks, irrigation ditches and areas of summer-moist land in the higher rainfall south west of WA, often forming large dense clumps.
Arum lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica) is a declared pest in Western Australia (WA).
